Don’t use broken glassware • No horseplay • When in doubt--Ask!!!!!! • Do not return chemicals to container • Never mix scoopulas in chemical containers • Acid into water for dilutions • Do not force glass tubing into rubber stoppers • Contact lenses • Never pipet by mouth • Ask for help in cleaning spills.
Pay attention to instructions given by your teacher. • Be prepared • Keep work area clean • Clean spills immediately • Never sit on the lab table • Know location of safety equipment • No horseplay in lab • Never eat or drink in the laboratory area • Smell by fanning vapor toward your nose • Report all accidents to your teacher • Follow directions
Students can be denied lab access for these offenses. • Behavior that might cause injury to themselves or others • Not following the prescribed safety rules • Performing unauthorized activities • Not completing the pre-lab activity • Dress not appropriate for lab • Not wearing goggles
