Dynamic 365 for Financials Dynamic 365 for Financials formerly known as project Madeira shed light on the financial part of an organization. This solution is introduced in the newly developed Dynamic 365 family for the small to midsized organization. The potential customer for this solution are the audience that have outgrown software such as QuickBooks and excel. It also provide a rich ERP product for the users within their range of small implementation and licensing cost giving the product a low total cost of ownership.
Functionalitiesof Dynamics 365 for financials The functionality of dynamics 365 for financials is break down into three parts : • Financials • Sales • Purchase
1. Financials Finance is a stream that deals with the study of investment. It deals with the study of assets and liabilities over the time under the condition of risk. It can also be termed as the field of Money management. Finance can be classified into three sub categories: public finance, corporate finance Personal finance.
2. Sales A sale is the transaction of goods and services between two parties first one is buyer and second one is seller. It can be termed as a mutual agreement between the two parties. A core entity of sale cycle is customer which asks for a quote from the dealer or a supplier and starts the whole cycle from sales quote to invoice generation.
3. Purchase Purchasing is the process of buying goods and services from a vendor (core entity).it can vary from organization to organization but the key element remain same. it all start with a demand and requirement that could be any goods or services. . A request for proposal (RFP) or request for quotation (RFQ) is then created. Suppliers usually send their quotations in response to the quotes, and a review is undertaken where the best offer (typically based on price, availability and quality) is given the purchase order.
1. Multi Currency The software allows users to buy and sell in currencies that are different to local currency. Currencies can be linked to exchange rate services to automatically update the rates in the system. 2. DATA MIGRATION This extension makes it easy to migrate customers, vendors, items, and accounts from QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel.
3. Outlook Integration 4. ACCESS FROM MOBILE The Outlook add-in allows the user to manage customer and vendor activities directly from Outlook. Financial information from vendors and customers can be accessed and documents such as quotes and invoices can be sent directly to clients. Data from D365F can be accessed through a user’s mobile device. Users have the ability to export data, email sales quotes or invoices, and the ability to view charts and financial information.
5. MS Word Template Users have the option to use RDLC layouts (modified using SQL Server Report Builder) or a simple MS word template. A Word report layout is a based on Word document (.docks file type). Word report layouts enable the user to design report layouts by using Microsoft Word 2013 or later. A Word report layout determines the report’s content – controlling how that content elements are arranged and how they look. A Word report layout document will typically use tables to organize content, where the cells can contain data. Reports layouts can be exported or imported at any time.
6. Workflows When a record, such as a purchase document or a customer card, needs to be authorized by someone in your organization, you send an confirmation request as part of a workflow. Based on how the workflow is set up, the appropriate approver is then notified that the record requires their approval.
Pricing and licensing For a full user or admin- leverages the majority of business apps’ functionality. They have also been invoked to as “power users.” All licenses include automatic product updates. The Full User license includes the rights for one external accountant user to access the service at no additional cost. The license for this user has to be requested separately. Price- $40 per month For a team member- predominately absorbs data and reports and complete light tasks like time entry. Price -$5 per month
