LRE & Transition • 2013-2014 CoP developed tool on LRE and Transition • CBI session – May 2014 • 17 volunteers • First state webinar PA - June 2014 • 4 volunteers and counting • CoP call – September 2014 • Define expectations • Seek volunteers • Design training and support of volunteers • Design feedback from volunteers who used the tool
Transition and SSIP • SSIP due April 1, 2015 • State Identified Measurable Results (SIMR) • Will define SEA priority for the next 6 years • Not matter what the SEA identifies it will impact Transition • Potential SIMRs • 3rd grade reading • 4th grade math • Graduating with a diploma • Dropout prevention • What is the transition connection? • What will we do to make the connection explicit? • Suggested: • CoP tool making the connection developed by the CoP (as with the LRE tool) • Promoted by local and state volunteers in states that identify each as it SIMR • Work with the IDEA Partnership to develop Dialogue Guides on articles that help teachers, administrators, and families understand the importance of the SIMR’s topic
Leading by Convening • Promote the Blueprint as a tool for authentic engagement • Disseminate the Blueprint link • Invite your transition leaders to a webinar on Leading by Convening (October 2014)
