  3. Changes in Working Conditions The above grid shows what different people thought about the working conditions at their work places.

  4. Why?

  5. Technology is Changing A lot • Factories have more machines to make multiple products, whereas before it took days to make what machines can make in an hour. • Many workers lose their jobs as they as being replaced by machines.

  6. Cont. • Machines will gradually take over most of the laborious jobs because they can do it much faster than humans can, plus there is no room for human error. • Humans will still be needed in some areas of work to develop the technology for new machines and to repair broken machines

  7. New Benefits in Working • Salary is much higher nowadays. People can work less and not as hard to gain more money. • People now have health insurance plans with the company they work for. This means if they are hurt at work the company must pay the doctors bill. • In work places there are more health and safety procedures carried out with regular safety checks to insure that workers are not at risk. • Many laws have now changed to ensure the conditions at a workplace are of good quality.

  8. Big Changes in Work • Machines are starting to take over work places. • There are more health procedures to keep workers safe. • Women now have equal rights to men. This means they can have a full education and have the same opportunities for careers
