  14. When we add ‘ed’ to words with a short vowel ending with one consonant, we usually have to double the last letter. hop - hopped beg – begged Can you think of some examples? Jot them down.

  20. With words ending in ‘e’, we simply take away the ‘e’ and add ‘ed’, otherwise it would read: • Danceed • Likeed
