CLG Legislation in EPBD Energy Performance Certificate • Key features • Required for all new buildings and buildings for sale or rent • For buildings over 10,000 m2 from 6th April 2008 • For buildings over 2,500 m2 from 1st July 2008 • For all buildings from 1st October • Indicates predicted energy performance (In terms of Carbon). • An accredited process, Other considerations: EPBD2 currently being considered by EU parliament and UK Gov’t.
Display Energy Certificate • Key features • Based on actual consumption for buildings over 1,000 m2. • Indicating a specific building type • Shows performance assessed against an appropriate benchmark • Shows historical progression to current performance value • Introduction by October 2008 (transitional arrangement available for site based DECs) • An accredited process • Transitional Arrangement • Based on actual consumption for sites with buildings over 1,000m2. • Energy details as submitted to ERIC • Shows performance assessed against an appropriate benchmark • Site benchmark generated from ERIC data • Introduction by 1st October 2008 • An accredited process
Energy Efficiency/Sustainability Capital Fund • A capital fund made available from 1st January 2007 until 31st March 2009 Now fully subscribed. • On completion set to save around 130,000 tonnes CO2 and nearly £16 million revenue per annum • Schemes include : • CHP, Boiler Efficiency, Renewable energy, Insulation • BMS controls, Inverter drives, Lighting
