  1. The SuperCycler A Software Overview

  2. Desktop 'Home' 1 Access all systems functions from here by pressing the icons with the stylus provided. Manual Control allows immediate manual setting of block temperature. Information displays a general information screen such as serial number, software and hardware version numbers. An on-screen user manual is accessible from under this page menu Configuration takes the user to the configuration page allowing of machine options. PCR Run is used to load or create an new PCR thermal profile and initiate its execution.

  3. PCR Run 2 Load an existing experiment from either the internal drive or an external USB drive, or create a new thermal profile using either the Wizard or the Manual Profile Builder.

  4. Wizard Mode 3 The Wizard utility enables the user to configure easy to moderate complex profiles in just moments. The Wizard screen displays each of the steps which occur in a typical range of profiles. At a minimum there are 3 steps, Preheat and then Denaturation and Anneal which are cycled. To adjust any of the parameters click on the corresponding time or temperature boxes.

  5. Run Confirmation 4 Select OK to proceed or Cancel further edit profile. System also allows profile to be run in virtual mode. Displays the profile sequence in text form for user to review. Shows detail of what occurs on run completion.

  6. Manual Profile Editor 5 The manual profile editor screen displays the current experiment profile in a 'tree list' format. This screen contains 8 icon buttons with the following functionality: • Help • Start Run • Add Event • Add Notes • Save • Load • Clear Profile • Settings

  7. Creating New Events 6 Pause – will hold the temperature at the last set point and pause the run with an audible warning. Cycling x Step – will proceed to generate a multi step cycling event. Hold – allows the operator to set the hold time and temperature. Ramp – allows the block temperature to be ramped either up or down between two set temperatures over a preset length of time.

  8. Setting New Event Parameters 7 Set the event or step parameters by touching the time and temperature buttons which facilitates the numeric input screen Selecting Gradient, Touchdown or Long Range checkboxes displays more settings.

  9. Advanced Event Parameters 8 This screen shows all gradient, touchdown and long range functions enabled. These may be used independently or all together. Touch the predicted temps link to display the predicted well temperatures when gradient function is enabled.

  10. Numeric Input Touch Screen 9 When step parameters are entered the user is prompted for number of cycles if it is a cycling step. After this display returns to the profile screen with the new event displayed.

  11. Run Screen 10 Once the run commences the software will automatically proceed to the ‘Run Screen’. The thermal profile may not be edited once the run has commenced, however ‘Pause’, ‘Start’ and ‘Stop functions may be used. The Run Screen also displays status, elapsed and estimated run time, current user logged in and their profile picture.

  12. Post Run Report 11 On run completion the post run report screen will show and if enabled an audible alarm will sound. The alarm may be muted by pressing the mute alarm button. The post run report can be saved as a text file to a USB memory stick

  13. Configuration 12 The configuration page provides access to the following features. Thermal Calibration feature is used to adjust the machine calibration. User Accounts: for user account control. Software Updates: used to update SuperCycler operating Software. Touch Panel Calibration: allows calibration of the touch-screen interface using the calibration wizard. File Manager: manages PCR run files and copying of file from the device to USB memory stick. Machine Settings: allows changes to be made to machine settings. Time & Date: used to set the Time for the instruments internal clock.

  14. File Manager 13 The File Manager area allows the transfer of PCR run files between the default or individual user directories and a USB memory drive.

  15. Users Accounts 14 The User Accounts section allows selection of an existing user and creation or deletion of a user profile. When a user is selected thermal profiles will be loaded or saved to a directory specific to that user.

  16. Machine Settings 15 The Machine Settings section facilitates changes to block thermal options and top heater options

  17. Extras 16 The Oligo Calculator is useful for calculating the theoretical melt temperature and other information pertaining to the oligo design. Simply enter the sequence and the calculator will do the rest. Several popular Games are also provided for your enjoyment!

  18. Upgrade Software 17 Free software upgrades for the life time of the product are available for all customers via our website. The upgrade process is very straight forward and takes only a few minutes.
