Math Summative Assessment 2D and 3D shapes, Perimeter and Area • Minimum Criteria: • 3D shapes (1 prism or 1 pyramid) • 2D shapes (4 different shapes) • Area of land: 200 cm sq, 250 cm sq, 256 cm sq, 300 cm sq, 3234 cm sq, 350 cm sq
Students make a plan of their building chosen. They list down some 2-D shapes to make sure they put several different 2-D shapes and the area all the 2-D shapes is near with their area chosen. Each students have different area. There are some possible area that students can choose.
Students draw some 2-D shapes based using a pair of compass. The area 2-D shapes based on their plan before. After they draw in A 4 paper, they put it in to hard paper, then put it together in to their building land chosen
Students start to create 3-D shapes net for their building. The requirement are make one prism and one pyramid.
After they finished the 3-D shapes net, they decorate the net, to make sure their building is like the real one.
The next following step they put the name of their building, put some picture that can support their building. The last step after they finish they put their building on the black paper.
There are some examples of the students project. It was fantastic, because they can do it by themselves.
