  1. GA Elections – Officers Required DUTIES March 6, 2014

  2. President • Meet with top administrators including Chancellor and UC President • Chair Executive Board meetings and Faculty Mentorship Awards Committees • Sit on high level administrative committees and the Commercial and Student Services Board which oversees the Student Union businesses and staff

  3. Internal Vice President • Chair Delegate Assembly and recruit and train new delegates • Manage internal GA resources such as room reservations, golf cart reservations, soda distribution,etc. • Sit on administrative committees including the board that oversees the Student Union businesses and staff • Serve as back up to the GA President

  4. External Affairs Vice President • Serve as a board member for the UC Student Association (requires travel at least once a month) • Meet with key administrators at UCOP and with Regents • Lobby and advocate at city, state, and federal levels (involves travel to Sacramento and DC) • Supervise 3 legislative directors and chair External Affairs Committee

  5. Campus Affairs Vice President • Assign graduate students to administrative and academic committees and check in regularly with committee reps • Liaise and check in with Project Coordinators • Meet with Academic Senate Chair and Provost • Sit on administrative and academic committees • Chair the Campus Affairs Committee

  6. Treasurer • Create the GA’s annual budget (and Chair the Budget Committee) • Approve all expenditures over $500 for officers, PCs, and staff • Periodically review GA spending and investments to ensure fiscal health of assembly • Sit on administrative committees as needed

  7. Rules Officer • Chair Rules Committee • Act as parliamentarian at GA delegates meetings • Conduct annual or biannual review of bylaws and charter and write resolutions to correct or update the bylaws and charter as needed • Serve on Funding Appeals Committee

  8. Funding Officer • Chair Funding Committee and sit on Funding Appeals Committee • Update Funding Guide annually or as needed • Help develop online funding application for 2014-2015 school year

  9. Environmental Sustainability Officer • Chair Environmental Sustainability Committee • Serve on sustainability related committees like The Green Initiative Fund • Oversee GA sustainability awards • Make recommendations to the GA on new sustainability initiatives/practices, etc.

  10. Graduate Council Reps • 3 reps and 1 alternative • Meet with Graduate Council 1-2/month • Sit on reviews of academic programs • Advocate for GA within Academic Senate and give updates at GA meetings
