Squares • A town square is an open area commonly found in the heart of a traditional town used for community gatherings. • Most town squares are suitable for open markets, musical performance, political and other events Being centrally located, town squares are usually surrounded by small shops such as bakeries, markets, stores and also church or mosque and city hall, etc. At their center is often a fountain, well, monument, or statue.

  8. Streets • A street is a paved public thoroughfare in a built environment. It is a public parcel of land adjoining building in an urban context, on which people may freely assemble, interact, and move about. • The street is a public easement, one of the few shared between all sorts of people. As a component of the built environment as ancient as human habitation, the street sustains a range of activities vital to civilization.   9. Pedestrian streets • pedestrian mall is the most common form of pedestrian zone in large cities. It is a street lined with storefronts and closed off to most car traffic Istiklal Street, Beyoglu,Istanbul La Rambla, Barcelona

  10. Alley • An alley is a narrow, pedestrian line found in urban areas mostly in older cities and towns in Europe which usually runs between or behind buildings. Alleys are often what is left of a medieval street network, or a right way or ancient footpath in an urban setting.
