Fats • Source of energy • 9 cal/gram • 3 types: • trans fat- margarine etc. • Saturated fat- animal products etc. • Unsaturated fat- plant food and fish • Dietary fat helps the body grow • Meat, oils, nut, dairy, etc…
Fibre • Helps Growth • Lowers Cholesterol • adds bulk in diet • provides food for bacteria to grow • Soluble fibre slows down sugar into bloodstream. • Prevents heart disease • Grain, veggies, fruits etc…
Protein • red blood cells carry oxygen through body • Muscles, organs, immune systemmade with protein • amino acids reuses proteins to maintain muscles • builds up; maintains; replaces tissues in body • break down the protein in food into units, • Meat, Dairy, eggs
Vitamins • Vitamins are natural substances Found in: -plants -animals • . The name is came from "vital amines" • There are 13 types of vitamins

Water • 60 to 70% of your body is water • Loose 250 ml water everyday by breathing! • Brain, blood, bones, lungs etc.. • Can’t live with out water • Need water to digest (pee) • Helps body temperature
