Morehead City HarborDredge Material Management Plan • Will look at disposal needs and alternatives for MHC Harbor over the next 20 years • Will factor environmental considerations into decision process • Disposal plan will be chosen based on federal standard of least cost alternative, consistent with sound engineering practices, and environmentally sustainable • Will look at placing material on Brandt Island, offshore, nearshore, and on the beaches • Final report expected in late 2009
Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway (AIWW) FY08 Work Maintenance Dredging at Five Different Sites Total Estimated Quantity: 550,000 CY Disposal Locations: Beach / Upland • Norfolk to Alligator River – FY08 and FY09 DMMP and EIS for Disposal Areas (North Landing River and Currituck Sound) • Alligator River to Pamlico River – FY07 Maintenance Dredging of Alligator-Pungo Landcut; and FY08 / FY09 DMMP and EIS for Disposal Areas (Alligator River) • Neuse River to Beaufort – FY07- Core Creek Landcut Maintenance Dredging. • Beaufort to Cape Fear– FY07- Topsail Inlet Crossing Maintenance Dredging. FY08- Maintenance Dredging of 1 to 3 shoaled areas. • Cape Fear to Little River– FY08/FY09 – No Funding • Norfolk, VA to Jacksonville, FL – Kick Off Meeting for Regional DMMP (Week of October 15th). Work to be completed with FY08 funds.

Type of Material: Silt & Sand Disposal Area: Upland Type of Equipment: Pipeline Last Dredged: 1999 Environmental Window: Oct 1 – March 31 (Shrimp, Fisheries) **Far Creek is located approximately 30 miles from the Manteo (Shallowbag) Bay Project.
