About Anawim • Registered as a TRUST (Registration number 188/1997) • Permitted to receive foreign funds under foreign fund contribution regulation act (Registration number : 076160005/11Jun2001) • Registered under section (u/s) 12A of the I.T Act, 1961, and it's Sl.No.67/97-98 dated 25/2/98. • Registered u/s 80G of the I.T Act, 1961 in c.No. 464/7/97-98 dated 25/2/98.

Completed and Ongoing Projects • ASHA : 8 projects in rural villages • Transformed the education situation in these villages. • CRY (Child Relief and You) : 16 villages project (5 years) • International Ocean Institute, Malta : ECO VILLAGES (70 villages) • Holistic development • Tiruchendur taluk : 55 villages • Kanchipuram dt. : 15 villages • Kanchipuram district : • Tuition centers • Type writing institute • Program for women groups in 15 villages (income generation). • Adult literacy programs in 5 villages. • Computer literacy course (State govt.), 2 (old) computers
Objectives, Details of Current proposal • Kanchipuram District, Eco-villages proposal • Increased awareness about coastal environment. • Education of women and children (the future of India) • Income generation (community-based micro credit). • Self help groups for community-based enterprises • Improved economic condition of women linked to respect in the community • Towards achieving these goals: • Type-writing institute (2 Computers) • Tuition centers (Teacher salary: 1 year) • Spoken English (Resources) • Adult Education (Teacher stipend: 1 year) • Women groups (Corpus for loans)
Budget (in Rupees) • Computer 2nos. (P-IV) X 25000 =50000 rupees • Salary for Tuition Teacher 12 months X 1000 = 12000 ,, • Resource person and materials for Spoken English 12 months X1000 = 12000 ,, • Adult Education 250 X 8centres X 12 months = 24000 ,, • Revolving fund for micro-credit = 100000 ,, • Contingency = 2000 ,, • Total requested: Rs. 200,000 (~$4500)
