Discrete I/O • Inputs • Self-sensing, no external power required • G – shared common • Outputs • Open collector transistor, requires 12 or 24VDC power • G – shared common (emitters) • On RF signal loss • Master outputs hold last value • Remote outputs return to OFF state
Analog I/O • Inputs • Do not provide loop power • Single ended, G terminal shared by all inputs • Outputs • Provide power • Single ended, G terminal shared by all outputs • On RF signal loss • Master outputs return to 4ma • Remote outputs hold last value
I/O Extender Configuration • Both RF and I/O modules must be configured • RF Module • Can use all radio features (P2P, P2MP, repeaters...) • Configured using HyperTerminal • I/O module configured using EEPROM software • Defines number of remotes in master • Assigns the remote number (address) • Sets I/O module baud rate (must match to radio baud rate) • Maps (assigns) analog points for each remote • NOTE: REMOVE I/O TERMINAL STRIPS OR I/O POWER BEFORE CONFIGURING
ERRATA • Always remove I/O power when configuring or reseting the units. This is not required for new version products with configuration switches. • It is possible during power brownout conditions that the I/O module gets “lost” and must be reset by cycling the power (remove I/O power too). New version products with configuration switches correct this. • Early model I/O extenders cannot be field configured.
