  3. M/V SUDDENLY • October 6th, 2010 • Vessel sank due to heavy weather while moored to pier in Ponce • Approximately 100 gallons diesel onboard • Owner hired contractors to boom off, plug vents, and salvage vessel • Operation lasted 3 days

  5. M/V CSL METIS • October 12th, 2010 • Grounded enroute to Port of Guayama • Approximately 270K Gallons of Bunker C

  6. M/V CSL METIS • Conducted daily overflights of the vessel • Obtained trajectory from NOAA SSC • Issued COTP Order to the vessel: • Completely encircle the vessel w/ boom • Conduct underwater survey of the hull • Underwater survey indicated no hull breach

  7. Hydrogen Fluoride Tank Leak • October 14th, 2010 • Intermodal Tank developed an unidentified leak • Sector San Juan, EQB, and San Juan Office of Emergency Management responded • Tank was isolated and exclusion zone established

Hydrogen Fluoride Tank Leak • Clean Harbors and Eagle SV made entry to attempt to identify/ repair leak • Leak was caused by a damaged gasket and could not be repaired • Applied temporary patch completely sealing the leak • Container escorted to pharmaceutical facility in Guayama for offload • “Stand-by” assistance: • Atlantic Strike Team • 22nd Civil Support Team • EPA Region II
