Reading ·Whole Class ·Guided/Literature groups (Reading Workshop) Focus on comprehension strategies in order to "make meaning" of the text. At home reading goal: 500 minutes/month and reader responses once a week.
Writing ·Narrative Stories Focus on elaboration and detail Example: "The baby was a mess." "Emmet sat in the high chair, smears of banana and applesauce across his face and up his arms to his elbows.
