The RIIP • A voluntary external engagement programme to run each semester • Providing internees with; • Analytical and research skills • Potential to have work published • Team based activities • Knowledge of ‘peace and conflict’ in both a local and international context • Experience of working under the guidelines and in some cases working with external organisations (NGOs, think tanks, charities, faith based organisations)
What are the disciplines the RIIP will focus on? • Inter-disciplinary sections • Religion and borders • Human rights • Religion and peace-building • Political violence • Conflict resolution • Peace, governance and society • Economic peace
What will be required from the internees? • Commitment • Attendance at workshops • Meeting report deadlines • Supporting fellow interns • Professionalism • Energy
RIIP Structure • Approximately 5 interns per working group • Each group will be assigned a question/project via an external organisation • Each group will nominate a rapporteur who will be the point of contact for the RIIP coordinator • Interactive workshops will be held on a bi-weekly basis and will include; • Research training • Problem solving • Project progress reports • Final reports will be submitted to RI staff • Good work will be sent to relevant external organisations and potentially published (by the RI and external org)
