Winter months don't begin until December. Winter temperatures are fairly cool with an average temperature of a little below freezing. Almost all of the world's deciduous forest is located by an ocean. The ocean and the wind are two big factors of why the temperature and climate change so much in this biome.
Location • The deciduous forest is located in the eastern US, most of Europe, eastern China, all of New Zealand, eastern Australia, and southern South America.
Organisms and their Adoptions • Some examples of trees are: Beech, Maple, Chestnut, Hickory, Elm, Basswood, Linden, Walnut, Sweet gum • Examples of animals are: Eagle, Bear, Coyote, Platypus, Chipmunk, Flying squirrel, Dormouse, Weasel, Deer. • The animals adapt to their climate by hibernating in the winter & living off the land, in the other 3 seasons. Also the trees provide shelter for them. Animals use the trees for food and water sources.
Typical Features Deciduous trees- trees that loose and grow leaves each year, in autumn they have lots of different colors such as yellow, orange, red, and green. There are lakes to give the animals and plants a good source of water. In winter most animals are hibernating so you won’t see much out.
