SEND Inspection by Ofsted and Care Quality Commission (CQC) • Pilot Inspections Spring Term Calderdale. 2nd round of pilot inspections Oct/Nov. • SEND Inspections will start from May 2016. Bradford is highly likely to be an early adopter. Ofsted and Care Quality commission. Inspection team include a specialist SEND HMI, a Children’s services inspector from (CQC) and a LA inspector. • New framework for inspecting the effectiveness of local areas SEND. • Draft Handbook for SEND Inspections expected by the end of the year.
Local Accountability System and Process • New final EHCP’s 97 within 20 weeks 27% • Draft EHCP 30 within 18 weeks 42% • Conversions 367 within 16 weeks 51% Need to improve statutory compliance
