EU-SADC Agro-Industry 2008 * Round-table discussions, workshops and other organized networking opportunities * Following the event, certain business ventures demonstrating potential may be eligible for additional assistance from other EU programmes *A venue to make the right business contacts with European companies
What are we looking for: INVESTMENT PROJECT PROFILESIdentification of over 100 agro-industrial projects/enterprises from the SADC region that will be of interest to potential investors/partnersProviding assistance for SADC project/enterprise owners in the preparation of their documentation and participation at the SPM, through workshops and other collective events
Type of companies: • Focus on companies with a turnover starting from Euro 100,000 • Minimum size of investment Euro 200,000 • Main target group is private companies. Cooperatives and farmers associations to a lesser extent
Form of cooperation: • Joint venture • Equity participation • Trade relation from EU to SADC • (distributor, agent) • Trade relation from SADC to EU (sales of raw material, but preferably value added) • Know-how transfer
Selection Criteria • Business plan should be viable • Management capacities and commitment • Product range potentially interesting for EU and SADC investors • Some knowledge of quality schemes (HACCP, BRC, EurepGAP) should be available • Attendance at SPM for one-to-one discussions is preferred
