What questions should I be asking? • Does the college have a contingency plan if the Support Staff go on strike as of September 1st? • Will the college be able to remain open in the event of a strike? • Will the academic semester be interrupted, shorten, etc in the event of a strike? • Will students be reimbursed for tuition fees already paid? • What services would be interrupted (admissions, registrar, financial aid/OSAP, health clinic, cleaning, IT, security, etc.)? • What services within the college are run by support staff and/or contract employees? • How will you communicate this plan to students? • If there is a strike and the college remains open with classes running, will you stop students from getting to classes?
Discussion/Contingency Planning • How will Frosh Week be effected? • What information are you providing to students on your Web site? • Are you built into the communication channels with both the college and your local? • Plan, Plan and PLAN!
