  2. His Life Period • Bornin Groot-Zundert, Holland. • son of a pastor, and was brought up in a religious family. • Emotional and not self-confidence. • In 1886 Paris to join his brother Théo. • When he was 37, he shot himself with a gun and died, mostly unknown.

  3. His Art Life • Post-Impressionistpainter. • His work had a great influence on 20th century art (colors and emotionalpower.) • Suffered from anxietyand fits of mental illness. • İnfluenced by impressionism.

  4. Not well known when he was alive, • After he died,became very famous. • One of the greatest painters in the world. • İmportantinfluence on modern art. • Most famous works were made in his last two years. • Made 2,000 artworks, with 900 paintings and 1,100 drawings and sketches. • His last words ‘’La tristesse dureratoujours"
