Theme Passage 2 Peter 1 3 as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life & godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory & virtue,
Theme Passage 2 Peter 1 4 by which have been given to us exceedingly great & precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
Life- The totality & perceived quality of a person’s physical, emotional, intellectual & spiritual experiences, including their current perceptions as to their state of being
Change- to cause to be different, to transform, transition, replace or modify from one state of being, condition or pattern to another
LifeChange- To experience personal transformation through living out Biblical principles. For the purpose of living a life up to the potential that God has designed for His followers & desires us to fulfill.
1) The Reason for LifeChange is to Experience the Life of God- Eph 4:17-19 17 … Live no longer as the ungodly do, for they are hopelessly confused. 18 Their closed minds are full of darkness; they are far away from the life of God because they have shut their minds & hardened their hearts against him. NLT
1) The Reason for LifeChange is to Experience the Life of God- Eph 4:17-19 19 They don’t care anymore about right & wrong & they have given themselves over to immoral ways. Their lives are filled with all kinds of impurity & greed.NLT
To accept & embrace God’s work to mold us & shape us is to accept God’s purpose in our life. The opposite is also true, when we resist & reject LifeChange, we reject God’s purpose for our life.
Colossians 2 6 As you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so continue to live in him. 7 Keep your roots deep in him & have your lives built on him. Be strong in the faith, just as you were taught, & always be thankful.
Gal 3 2 Let me ask you this one question: Did you receive the Holy Spirit by keeping the law? Of course not, for the Holy Spirit came upon you only after you believed the message you heard about Christ. NLT
Gal 3 3 Have you lost your senses? After starting your Christian lives in the Spirit, why are you now trying to become perfect by your own human effort?NLT
1) The Reason for LifeChange is to Experience the Life of God- Eph 4:17-19 Do I see God’s purpose working in my life? Am I actively pursuing God’s purpose in my life or fighting against it?
2) The Energy of LifeChange is Transformation- Eph 4:21-23 21 Since you have heard all about him & have learned the truth that is in Jesus, 22 throw off your old evil nature & your former way of life, which is rotten through & through, full of lust & deception. NLT
2) The Energy of LifeChange is Transformation- Eph 4:21-23 23 Instead, there must be a spiritual renewal of your thoughts & attitudes.NLT
Transformation- the process of change by renewing the form, substance, purpose, personality, character. It is not God’s desire to merely improve on our sinful condition, but to transform us into His holy character.
Rom 12 2 Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test & approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing & perfect will. NIV
The more we see God working in us, the more we will desire Him to do more. Nothing kills our passion like not focusing on God’s work… Nothing stokes our passion like seeing His powerful work.
II Cor 3 17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, & where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty NIV
II Cor 3 18 And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into His likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the SpiritNIV
