MIDDLE SCHOOL COURSES FOR HIGH SCHOOL CREDIT • The high school mathematics, science and second language courses taken in middle school will help fulfill high school graduation requirements. • These courses will NOT count in the students’ GPA’s once they reach high school.
“HOW DO I KNOW IF I SHOULD SIGN UP FOR AN HONORS COURSE?” MATH If your student took Algebra I in the 8th grade he/she will be placed in Geometry or Honors Geometry. Otherwise, placement in Algebra I or Transitions to Advanced Math will be made by referral and/or results of EOG scores/final grades. Transitions to Advanced Math is a math elective and available upon request. ENGLISH, SCIENCE AND SOCIAL STUDIES Students will be placed in honors courses based upon EOG scores, final grades and parent request.
