  6. The Angelic Conflict (1) Angels The Different Types Of Angels Cherubim (Cherubs) Guard Genesis 3:24 (NASB95) 24So He drove the man out; and at the east of the garden of Eden He stationed the cherubim and the flaming sword which turned every direction to guard the way to the tree of life. Seraphim (Seraphs) Isaiah 6:1–2 (NASB95) 1In the year of King Uzziah’s death I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, lofty and exalted, with the train of His robe filling the temple. 2Seraphim stood above Him, each having six wings: with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew.

  7. The Angelic Conflict (1) Angels The Different Types Of Angels Living Creatures Revelation 4:6 (NASB95) 6and before the throne there was something like a sea of glass, like crystal; and in the center and around the throne, four living creatures full of eyes in front and behind. Revelation 5:11 (NASB95) 11Then I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne and the living creatures and the elders; and the number of them was myriads of myriads, and thousands of thousands, Watchers Daniel 4:17 (NASB95) 17“This sentence is by the decree of the angelic watchers And the decision is a command of the holy ones, In order that the living may know That the Most High is ruler over the realm of mankind, And bestows it on whom He wishes And sets over it the lowliest of men.”

  8. The Angelic Conflict (1) Angels Angels Normally Cannot Be Seen, But Sometimes They Can Be Seen They Can Appear And Look Like Humans Genesis 18:2 (NASB95) 2When he lifted up his eyes and looked, behold, three men were standing opposite him; and when he saw them, he ran from the tent door to meet them and bowed himself to the earth, Luke 1:11–12 (NASB95) 11And an angel of the Lord appeared to him, standing to the right of the altar of incense. 12Zacharias was troubled when he saw the angel, and fear gripped him. Luke 24:4 (NASB95) 4While they were perplexed about this, behold, two men suddenly stood near them in dazzling clothing; Hebrews 13:2 (NASB95) 2Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by this some have entertained angels without knowing it.

  9. The Angelic Conflict (1) Angels Angels Can Appear And Disappear, Pass Through Matter, Travel Quickly Through Space And Fly Acts 12:7 (NASB95) 7And behold, an angel of the Lord suddenly appeared and a light shone in the cell; and he struck Peter’s side and woke him up, saying, “Get up quickly.” And his chains fell off his hands. Angels Protect And Deliver God’s People Matthew 4:6 (NASB95) 6and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down; for it is written, ‘He will command His angels concerning You’; and ‘On their hands they will bear You up, So that You will not strike Your foot against a stone.’ ”

  10. The Angelic Conflict (1) Angels Angels Carry Believers To Heaven When They Die Luke 16:22 (NASB95) 22“Now the poor man died and was carried away by the angels to Abraham’s bosom; and the rich man also died and was buried. Angels Rejoice When One Sinner Is Saved Luke 15:10 (NASB95) 10“In the same way, I tell you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.” Angels Observe Us And Are Pleased Or Offended By Our Actions 1 Corinthians 11:10 (NASB95) 10Therefore the woman ought to have a symbol of authority on her head, because of the angels.

  11. God’s Essence Heaven Hades After The Resurrection Of Christ Believers The Earth Christ took Believers to Heaven Luke 16:19-31 Eph. 4:8-9 Ps.68:18 Hades/Sheol “a great chasm fixed” Place of Torment Unbelievers The lower part/heart of the Earth 2 Peter 2:4 Tartarus Fallen Angels of Gen. 6 “pits of darkness”

  12. The Angelic Conflict (1) Angels Believers Are Never To Worship Or Pray To Angels Luke 4:8 (NASB95) 8Jesus answered him, “It is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God and serve Him only.’ ” Revelation 19:10 (NASB95) 10Then I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, “Do not do that; I am a fellow servant of yours and your brethren who hold the testimony of Jesus; worship God. For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.” Revelation 22:8–9 (NASB95) 8I, John, am the one who heard and saw these things. And when I heard and saw, I fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who showed me these things. 9But he said to me, “Do not do that. I am a fellow servant of yours and of your brethren the prophets and of those who heed the words of this book. Worship God.”

  13. The Angelic Conflict (1) Angels Angels were all created perfect but with volition. Some angels (1/3) chose to listen to and follow Satan in his rebellion against God. Revelation 12:4 (NASB95) 4And his tail swept away a third of the stars of heaven and threw them to the earth. And the dragon stood before the woman who was about to give birth, so that when she gave birth he might devour her child. Revelation 12:9 (NASB95) 9And the great dragon was thrown down, the serpent of old who is called the devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was thrown down to the earth, and his (Satan’s) angels were thrown down with him. There are now good and bad angels. Good angels are called elect angels and follow God. Bad angels are called fallen angels (demons) and follow Satan.

  14. The Angelic Conflict (2) Angels Gabriel (Messenger) Gabriel Means “Mighty One Of El (God) God Uses Him To Deliver Messages At Different Times Gabriel Explains Daniel’s Vision (Dream) Of The Ram Daniel 8:15–17,21 (NASB95) 15When I, Daniel, had seen the vision, I sought to understand it; and behold, standing before me was one who looked like a man. 16And I heard the voice of a man between the banks of Ulai, and he called out and said, “Gabriel, give this man an understanding of the vision.” 17So he came near to where I was standing, and when he came I was frightened and fell on my face; but he said to me, “Son of man, understand that the vision pertains to the time of the end.” 21“The shaggy goat represents the kingdom of Greece, and the large horn that is between his eyes is the first king.

  15. The Angelic Conflict (2) Angels Gabriel (Messenger) Gabriel Tells Zacharias Of The Birth Of John The Baptist Luke 1:19 (NASB95) 19The angel answered and said to him, “I am Gabriel, who stands in the presence of God, and I have been sent to speak to you and to bring you this good news. Gabriel Tells Mary Of The Birth Of Jesus Christ Luke 1:26–27 (NASB95) 26Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city in Galilee called Nazareth, 27to a virgin engaged to a man whose name was Joseph, of the descendants of David; and the virgin’s name was Mary.

  16. The Angelic Conflict (2) Angels Michael (Warrior) Michael Means “Who Is Like El (God)” Michael Opposed Satan In A Dispute (Argument) Over Moses’ Body Jude 9 (NASB95) 9But Michael the archangel, when he disputed with the devil and argued about the body of Moses, did not dare pronounce against him a railing judgment, but said, “The Lord rebuke you!” Michael Begins The War In Heaven Against “The Serpent Of Old” Revelation 12:7–9 (NASB95) 7And there was war in heaven, Michael and his angels waging war with the dragon. The dragon and his angels waged war, 8and they were not strong enough, and there was no longer a place found for them in heaven. 9And the great dragon was thrown down, the serpent of old who is called the devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him.

  17. The Angelic Conflict (2) Angels Lucifer (Satan) Greatest Angel Of All Ezekiel 28:11–15 (NASB95) 11Again the word of the Lord came to me saying, 12“Son of man, take up a lamentation over the king of Tyre and say to him, ‘Thus says the Lord God, “You had the seal of perfection, Full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. 13“You were in Eden, the garden of God; Every precious stone was your covering: The ruby, the topaz and the diamond; The beryl, the onyx and the jasper; The lapis lazuli, the turquoise and the emerald; And the gold, the workmanship of your settings and sockets, Was in you. On the day that you were created They were prepared. 14“You were the anointed cherub who covers, And I placed you there. You were on the holy mountain of God; You walked in the midst of the stones of fire. 15“You were blameless in your ways From the day you were created Until unrighteousness (sin) was found in you.

  18. The Angelic Conflict (2) Angels Lucifer (Satan) Greatest Angel Of All He Is Referred To As “The Anointed Cherub That Covers” This Indicates That He Was a Cherub Of Exalted Position In God’s Throne Room As a Guardian Ezekiel 28:14 (NASB95) 14“You were the anointed cherub who covers, And I placed you there. You were on the holy mountain of God; You walked in the midst of the stones of fire.

  19. The Angelic Conflict (2) Angels Lucifer (Satan) The Greatest Angel Of All Ezekiel 28:16–19 (NASB95) 16“By the abundance of your trade You were internally filled with violence, And you sinned; Therefore I have cast you as profane From the mountain of God. And I have destroyed you, O covering cherub, From the midst of the stones of fire. 17“Your heart was lifted up (pride) because of your beauty; You corrupted your wisdom by reason of your splendor. I cast you to the ground; I put you before kings, That they may see you. 18“By the multitude of your iniquities, In the unrighteousness of your trade You profaned your sanctuaries. Therefore I have brought fire from the midst of you; It has consumed you, And I have turned you to ashes on the earth In the eyes of all who see you. 19“All who know you among the peoples Are appalled at you; You have become terrified And you will cease to be forever.” ’ ”

  20. The Angelic Conflict (2) Angels Lucifer (Satan) Greatest Angel Of All Two Names Applied To Him Are “Shining One” and “ Son Of The Dawn” Isaiah 14:12 (NASB95) 12“How you have fallen from heaven, O star of the morning, son of the dawn! You have been cut down to the earth, You who have weakened the nations! *The English word ‘Lucifer’ comes from the Latin for ‘light bearer,.’ As Seen In Isaiah 14:12 *Achtemeier, P. J., Harper & Row and Society of Biblical Literature. (1985). In Harpers Bible dictionary (1st ed., p. 582). San Francisco: Harper & Row.

  21. The Angelic Conflict (2) Angels Lucifer (Satan) The Greatest Angel Of All His Post-Fall Names Satan ( Adversary, Opponent) Is An Enemy Of God And Man Job 1:6 (NASB95) 6Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satanalso came among them. Revelation 12:9 (NASB95) 9And the great dragon was thrown down, the serpent of old who is called the devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him.

  22. The Angelic Conflict (2) Angels Lucifer (Satan) The Greatest Angel Of All His Post-Fall Names The Devil (Slanderer, False Accuser) Revelation 12:10 (NASB95) 10Then I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, “Now the salvation, and the power, and the kingdom of our God and the authority of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren has been thrown down, he who accuses them (Believers) before our God day and night. 1 Peter 5:8 (NASB95) 8Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.

  23. The Angelic Conflict (2) Angels Lucifer (Satan) The Greatest Angel Of All His Post-Fall Names The Evil One Matthew 13:19 (NASB95) 19“When anyone hears the word of the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what has been sown in his heart. This is the one on whom seed was sown beside the road. John 17:15 (NASB95) 15“I do not ask You to take them out of the world, but to keep them from the evil one. Ephesians 6:16 (NASB95) 16in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.

  24. The Angelic Conflict (2) Angels Lucifer (Satan) The Greatest Angel Of All His Post-Fall Names The Dragon (Dangerous) Revelation 12:3–4 (NASB95) 3Then another sign appeared in heaven: and behold, a great reddragon having seven heads and ten horns, and on his heads were seven diadems. 4And his tail swept away a third of the stars of heaven and threw them to the earth. And the dragon stood before the woman who was about to give birth, so that when she gave birth he might devour her child. Beelzebub (Lord of The Flies) Matthew 12:24 (NASB95) 24But when the Pharisees heard this, they said, “This man casts out demons (fallen angels) only by Beelzebul the ruler of the demons.”

  25. The Angelic Conflict (2) Angels • Lucifer (Satan) The Greatest Angel Of All • His Post-Fall Names • Ruler/god Of This World • John 12:31 (NASB95) • 31“Now judgment is upon this world; now the ruler of this world will be cast out. • 2 Corinthians 4:4 (NASB95) • 4in whose case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they might not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. • Prince Of The Power Of The Air • Ephesians 2:2 (NASB95) • 2in which you formerly walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience.

  26. The Angelic Conflict (2) Angels Lucifer (Satan) The Greatest Angel Of All His Post-Fall Names Leviathan (Sea Monster) Isaiah 27:1 (NASB95) 1In that day the Lord will punish Leviathan the fleeing serpent, With His fierce and great and mighty sword, Even Leviathan the twisted serpent; And He will kill the dragon who lives in the sea. Belial/Beliar (Lord of The Forest) 2 Corinthians 6:15 (NASB95) 15Or what harmony has Christ with Belial, or what has a believer in common with an unbeliever?

  27. The Angelic Conflict (2) Angels Lucifer (Satan) The Greatest Angel Of All Other Terms Or Methods (Ways) of Satan The Tempter Matthew 4:3; IThess. 3:5 The Strong Man Matthew. 12:29 The Enemy Matthew 13:25,28 Your Father John 8:44 A Murderer John 8:44 A Liar, Father Of The Lie John 8:44 Spirit Working…Sons ….. Ephesians 2:2 The Adversary I Peter 5:8 The Deceiver Revelation 12:9 The Accuser Revelation 12:10

  28. The Angelic Conflict (3) Lucifer’s Sin Lucifer Choose Against God And God’s Grace Because God knows everything (omniscience), He knew what Lucifer was thinking in his heart before he ever spoke. God knows all our thoughts whether or not we speak those thoughts. Can we hide anything from God? NO! God changed this angel’s name from Lucifer to Satan Hebrew: Satan - means adversary, opponent Greek: Devil - means accuser

  29. The Angelic Conflict (3) Satan’s Sin Sin: All angels, including Satan were created perfect. They were also created with volition. Satan decided one day that he did not want to worship God and serve Him any longer. He went “negative” to the truth. He did this because of his sin of pride, he became impressed with his beauty, glory, and greatness. He manifested (showed) his negative volition by exalting (putting) his own will and ego above God’s will. On the next page, His five statements all begin with “I will”, which some have considered to be the most concise (shortest) definition of sin—exalting (putting) one’s will over God’s. Isa. 14:12-14

  30. The Angelic Conflict (3) Satan’s Sin The Five I Wills Of Satan Isaiah 14:12–14 (NASB95) 12“How you have fallen from heaven, O star of the morning, son of the dawn! You have been cut down to the earth, You who have weakened the nations! 13“But you said in your heart, ‘I will ascend to heaven; I will raise my throne above the stars of God, And I will sit on the mount of assembly In the recesses of the north. 14‘I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.’ I will ascend into Heaven sets forth his plan to capture and sit on the very throne of God and use it for himself. He wanted to be God. I will raise my throne above the stars (angels) of God details his goal of exalting himself above all the other angels and demanding they worship him as king. I will sit on the mount of assembly indicates that Satan would take an exalted position on planet earth. He wants to be the king of earth and rule over it. I will ascent above the heights of the clouds explains his plan to exercise supreme rule over planet earth. His rebellion is to be on planet earth. I will make myself like the Most High sets forth the great delusion (the lie) that created beings can become God. He wants to be God.

  31. The Angelic Conflict (3) God’s Judgements On Satan’s Sin Because God is +R and Justice, sin could not go unpunished. God judged Satan and he was found guilty. These five I will statements each correspond to a series of falls or demotions, which begin with his loss of righteousness and end with his permanent incarceration (confinement) in the lake of fire.

  32. The Angelic Conflict (3) God’s Judgements On Satan’s Sin Satan’s First Fall From Absolute Righteousness And Perfection At The Time He Manufactured His Mental Attitude Sin Of Pride Ezekiel 28:15c (NASB95) 15c“Until unrighteousness (Sin) was found in you. Satan’s Second Fall Involved God’s Judgment And Resulted In His Demotion As The Anointed Cherub Ezekiel 28:14a (NASB95) 14a“You were the anointed cherub who covers These two falls occurred at an unspecified time and resulted in Satan’s expulsion from planet earth and judgment of the earth by virtue of association. Gen. 1:2 cf. Isa. 45:18, Jer. 4:23-26

  33. The Angelic Conflict (3) God’s Judgements On Satan’s Sin Satan’s Third Fall This Will Come At the Middle Of Daniel’s 70th Week, When Michael Will Instigate An Attack On Satan And Banish Him From Heaven Revelation 12:7–9 (NASB95) 7And there was war in heaven, Michael and his angels waging war with the dragon.

  34. The Angelic Conflict (3) God’s Judgements On Satan’s Sin Satan’s Fourth Fall This Will Occur Just After The Second Advent, When a Powerful Angel Will Bind Satan And Lock Him In The Abyss Revelation 20:1–3 (NASB95) 1Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, holding the key of the abyss and a great chain in his hand. 2And he laid hold of the dragon, the serpent of old, who is the devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years; 3and he threw him into the abyss, and shut it and sealed it over him, so that he would not deceive the nations any longer, until the thousand years were completed; after these things he must be released for a short time.

  35. The Angelic Conflict (3) God’s Judgements On Satan’s Sin Satan’s Fifth Fall This Will Occur At The End Of The Millennium, When Satan Will Be Permanently Confined To The Lake Of Fire Revelation 20:10 (NASB95) 10And the devil who deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are also; and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever. Any suggestion that Satan somehow occupies an exalted or high position of ruler ship in the lake of fire is erroneous (not true); he will become the most despised and abased of all creatures for eternity. Isaiah 14:9-11, 15-17

  36. The Angelic Conflict (3) Satan’s Third Fall Satan’s Fourth Fall Satan’s Fifth Fall Daniel’s 70th Week 7 Years Millennial Kingdom On Planet Earth 1000 Years

  37. The Angelic Conflict (3) The Five Falls Of Satan First Fall Fall From Righteousness and Perfection Ezek. 28:15c Ezek. 28:14a Rev. 12:7-9 Rev. 20:1-3 Rev. 20:10 Second Fall Demotion As The Anointed Cherub Third Fall Banishment From Heaven Fourth Fall Bound And Locked In The Abyss Fifth Fall Confined to The Lake Of Fire

  38. The Angelic Conflict (3) God’s Judgements On Satan’s Sin When God found Satan guilty and told Satan what his punishment was, Satan probably told God that He was unfair. Can God be unfair? No! (God is Justice) God created only perfect, good angels. Because of Satan’s sin, there are now two kinds of angels. Good angels - elect - chose for God - serve God and will live with God in heaven forever. Bad angels (demons) - fallen - chose against God, and now fight against His plan. They will live with Satan forever in the Lake of Fire.

  39. The Angelic Conflict (4) The Creation Of Man The Order Of Things God Has Always Existed John 1:1 Angels Were The First Thing That God The Son Created God The Son Next Created The Universe (The Heavens and Earth). Genesis 1:1 After Satan And His Angels Sinned, They Were Thrown Out Of Heaven And Down To Earth. Next, God Judged The Earth And Covered It With Ice, Because Of Satan’s Fall. Jeremiah 4:23-26, Isa. 45:18 Next The Earth Was Repaired Or Restored (Six Literal 24 Hours Days) So Man Could Live On It. Genesis 1:3ff Man Was Created After The Earth Was Repaired Or Restored. Genesis 1:27

  40. The Angelic Conflict (4) The Order Of Things And The Creation Of Man

  41. The Angelic Conflict (4) Man’s Volition (Choice) Eternity With God In Heaven Eternity With Satan In The Lake Of Fire

  42. God’s Essence Hades Prior to The Resurrection Of Christ Luke 16:19-31 The Earth Abrahams Bosom Paradise Believers Hades/Sheol “a great chasm fixed” Place of Torment Unbelievers The lower part/heart of the Earth 2 Peter 2:4 Tartarus Fallen Angels of Gen. 6 “pits of darkness”
