  1. Design Task 3 - RM • A mail order company wishes to offer a range of Products based upon 20th Century Design movements. Choose a movement, and design and make a product (or range of products), which reflect the essential features of that movement. Your target market is middle aged adults who wish to create a themed room for their home. St Nicholas Catholic High School 40409

  2. Design Task 5 - RM • Design and make a nursery toy that would help in the physical and/or intellectual development of children under 7. (You could be more specific with your age range). The product packaging must also be included as part of the product and must be in the same style as the company for which you are designing (eg ELC or Toys r Us etc) St Nicholas Catholic High School 40409

  3. Design Task 9 - RM • The growth in leisure activities has been reflected in the availability of products to help with ‘outdoor living’ (camping, BBQ, sports, outdoor games, storage etc). Investigate a specific target market and then design and make a product that is suitable for them to be sold in the ‘Outdoor Living’ section of a large Department Store (your client). You may consider how changing weather conditions may affect your product… St Nicholas Catholic High School 40409

  4. Design Task 14 - RM • There are a large number of nesting boxes and bird feeders on the market. Choose a client (garden centre, large DIY chain etc) and using rustic materials (ie wood), design and make a new product which will add to the range already offered by your client. You must consider batch production and make 5 of these products by making jigs etc to help you (the jigs get marked too). St Nicholas Catholic High School 40409

  5. Design Task 20 - GP • The 2012 Olympics is raising people’s awareness of Healthy Living. Investigate one of the areas listed below and design and make a complete product including the packaging. Choose a specific Target market (in consultation with your teacher), research them and develop a specific design brief as a result. • Design and make either: • a Cookery Calendar with Healthy Recipes • a Healthy Living Board Game • a Gift pack for Sports enthusiasts (Horse riding, Swimming, Running, Fishing, Skiing etc) St Nicholas Catholic High School 40409
