  2. The General Meaning • The Eucharist is a processed piece of bread formed in a circle being eaten at the celebration of Mass to represent the sacrifice of Jesus Christ in the Christian religion.

  3. The Theological Meaning • The Eucharist: • through transubstantiation, is Jesus Christ present in the bread of renewing life.

  4. The Eucharist… • reminds us to be like Jesus to make a sacrifice for a greater good.

  5. The Eucharist… • brings the community together to celebrate or remember what Jesus intended for the sake of humanity.

  6. The Eucharist… • is given by the breaking of the bread, or breaking of sin which represents new life in a culture.

  7. The Eucharist… • is a spiritual nourishment that sustains you and the central event of festivities of Catholic schools.

  8. The Eucharist… • represents Jesus’ presence as He was at the Last Supper: at the table with friends, in the bread and wine, in sharing of life, sacrificing, and finding of new life by His body and blood.

  9. The Eucharist… • represents the ultimate sacrifice Jesus endured for the sake of our sins.
