What do I need to know? • TCD is an extended elective. • School rules apply. • Expectations specific to TCD include…
Arrival at TCDp.6 • Upon arrival, go directly to your program area. Students must have staff approval to leave the program area.
Departure from TCDp.6 • Students leave from class to meet the buses no more than 5 minutes before buses leave. • Students must have instructor permission to leave!
Missed Bus Proceduresp.6 • From sending school—See the Dean • From TCD—Report to the TCD Student Services Office
Student Drivingp.6 • All students take the bus provided by the sending school. • Exceptions are very rare.
Student Drivingp.6 • Approval to drive to TCD requires at least 24 hours advanced approval by: -Sending school -Parents/Guardians -TCD Office
Student Drivingp. 6 Students who have permission to drive MAY NOT drive others.
Early Dismissalp.6 • Early dismissal must be arranged through the TCD Student Services Office. • 24 hours advanced notice is appreciated.
ID Cardp.7 • Students must show their Sending School ID when they arrive at TCD. • Failure to comply will result in discipline at both TCD and the sending school.
Personal Propertyp.7 • TCD is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged student items. • Lockers are provided should a student need to secure personal items.

Professional Conduct p.9, 15-24 • TCD is a professional environment On any given day, visitors include: -Family members, -Community members, -Future employers, -College representatives, -Media representatives
Professional Conduct p. 9, 15-25 • Appropriate language, behavior, and appearance are expected by all students at all times.
Professional Conduct p. 9, 15-25 Students must be safe. Therefore… -Horseplay and/or Fighting, -Failure to comply with preventative safety requirements, and -Unsanitary behaviors will result in discipline consequences.
Professional Conduct p. 9, 15-25 • Professionally acceptable language is expected at all times. • Communication must be: • Appropriate in volume and tone • Free from vulgarity, obscenity, or profanity
Bullying and Harassment p. 16 • Bullying, Intimidation, and Harassment will not be tolerated. • Bring concerning situations to the attention of TCD staff immediately.
Hats, Headgear, Hoods, Sun Glasses • Due to the unique nature of the TCD environment, • Hats • Headgear • Hoods • Sun Glasses must be removed before entering the building.
Proper Attire p. 17 • Sending schools have a variety of clothing expectations. • TCD students must be safely, appropriately, and completely covered from their shoulders to five (5) inches above the knees when they arrive to school.
Student Discipline p.18-24 • All discipline situations are unique • Administrative discretion will be used in each situation • TCD administration will coordinate outcomes with sending schools
Video Monitoring Cameras p. 18 • To enhance student safety, TCD Common Areas are monitored by video cameras.
Academic Integrity p.24 • Be proud of who you are and what you earn…cheating will result in appropriate sanctions.
Safety Drills and Procedures p. 17 • Please take these opportunities to prepare for the safety of all seriously.
Medications p. 13 • When possible, prescription medicines must be stored and administered at the sending school. • Medicines are not to be maintained by the student.
Technology Use p. 10-12 • Technology is made available for academic use only. • Failure to comply will result in loss of access.
Parent/Guardian and Student Consent Form p. 3-4 • Review the handbook w/ your parent/guardian • Complete the form on p. 3 and 4 • Return the completed form to your instructor
