  4. A Family Preparedness Plan • Decide on a meeting place • Make a list of emergency phone numbers • Have an emergency supply kit • Locate fire exits and extinguishers • Take a first aid and CPR class • Practice the plan

  6. At School • Ask • How will schools communicate with families? • Do they store enough food, water and other basic supplies? • Are they prepared to “shelter-in-place?” • Prepare • Keep a mini version of emergency kit in backpack

  7. Kid’s Mini Emergency Kit • A small bottle of water • One or two granola bars • A list of emergency phone numbers • Mini flashlight • Bottle of hand sanitizer gel

  8. At Work • Know your company’s plan • Know the exit routes, location of fire extinguishers and medical kits • Have a designated post-evacuation meeting location • Make a list of phone numbers • Gather personal emergency supplies: flashlights, walking shoes, a water bottle and other items.

  9. Be Aware of Surroundings • Know your Neighbors • Identify neighbors who need additional help and make a plan to help them in an emergency • Create Neighborhood Watch group • Report suspicious activities in your neighborhood to the San Diego FBI office at 858-565-1255
