BEP-Business Enterprise Program It is nationally wide program that have goals to engage visually impairment people in business activity in order to benefit them with finance indecency and reasonable quality of life . ---------------------------------- Purposes of the program: • To enlarge the economic opportunities of the blind • To stimulate the blind to greater efforts to make themselves self-sufficient

Reinstatement of license . • Reinstatement of a BEP license for an individual can be accomplished by formally requesting the SLA reinstate the BEP License within a two year period • They need to be licensed managers by the State of Oklahoma; • Their status needs to be in good standing- following all rules and regulation trough the Department of Rehabilitation Services and the law in Oklahoma; • Their financial balance at the end of the month needs to be positive; • They need to follow the requirements when they report repair issue or maintenance on a machine or equipment. The program has developed a form that needs to be completed and submitted on a timely manner before a technician is assigned to finish the task; • They need to work on the program at least two years; • Their facility evaluation at the end of each year needs to be in a good standing and at least meet standards condition; • Their overall performance needs to be at least meet standards.

  15. Initial training • The participants have to take a few classes that include: • General information for the program • Condition and roles for participation • Manager training • Technical training .

Initial inventory and supplies Option #1 Initial merchandise purchasing with his/her own funds Option #2 Merchandise loan with following terms: • SLA with consultation with licensed manager assess the merchandise necessity to initiate sales • All merchandise purchases have to be approve from SLA • 2% of monthly gross have to be returned in to cover merchandise loan • Sign merchandise security agreement between manager and SLA • Second merchandise loan could be available to under specific circumstances
