Manufacturing Enterprise Advances Economic Development • Dynamic Air Shelters Limited (DASL) uses hot air balloon technology to manufacture inflatable structures which can be used for a variety of purposes – from small shelters to very large industrial work crew protection units • These compact, easily deployable and durable shelters can be set up quickly by a small work crew

  2. Built to withstand extreme temperatures and environmental conditions, Dynamic’s shelters serve a variety of markets

  3. Goals: • Originally located in Calgary, the company relocated the production facility to Grand Bank in 2006 to capitalize on the availability of a loyal, hardworking and creative work force • Dynamic maintains offices in Calgary for research and development and engineering

  4. REDB Role: • SRDC introduced the company president to the local business community and government representatives, and organized several speaking engagements at local venues to facilitate this process • Also supported Dynamic’s efforts to avail of business support agencies and funding programs by arranging meetings and discussion opportunities

  5. Outcomes: • DASL employs between 80 and 100 people, many of whom took on the challenge of re-training for their new careers • Significant economic impact for Grand Bank and Fortune through spin-off jobs and activity • DASL has already expanded its facilities in the region to keep up with product development
