What is the EXPLORE test? • Taken during 8th grade year • Indicates if students are on target to be college ready by graduation • Indicates how students will perform on the PLAN test (10th grade) • Prepare for ACT • Choose career direction • Plan high school courses (honors/career major/etc.)
PLAN Test • Taken during 10th grade • Indicates if students are on target to meet ACT benchmarks • Plan high school courses (honors, dual-credit) • Choose career direction
ACT Test • Taken during 11th and 12th grade years • Indicates what students have learned throughout high school • Provides colleges and universities with information (recruiting, placement, advising, etc.) • Identify relevant career options
You can earn KEES money EVERY year of high school based on your GPA! You can also earn BONUS KEES money based on your ACT score! Up to $2500 by graduation!
EXPLORE Test The EXPLORE test is divided into FOUR sections and each section is timed: • English—40 Questions/30 Minutes • Math—30 Questions/30 Minutes • Reading—30 Questions (3 passages)/30 Minutes • Science—28 Questions/30 Minutes
EXPLORE Benchmarks • English—13 • Math—17 • Reading—15 • Science—20 • The benchmark is a measurement used to indicate a student’s likelihood of being ready for first-year college courses.
EXPLORE Score ReportWhat do the EXPLORE scores mean? The COMPOSITE SCORE is simply the average of the scores in English, math, reading, and science (rounded to the nearest whole number).
EXPLORE Score ReportIs your student on track? The estimated PLAN Composite Score Range can be used to predict how students will likely perform on the PLAN test during 10th grade.
EXPLORE Score ReportCollege Readiness The EXPLORE results give parents an early clue as to whether their child will be ready for college-level work if he/she keeps doing the same things in school.
