THE PROBLEM • 77 million seniors are entering retirement • 90% would prefer to be cared for in their homes • We can’t build enough institutions to care for all the seniors entering the market • There is a shortage of clinical personnel and caregivers to provider needed services • Baby boomer are requesting, expecting and using more technology

  5. BACKGROUNDSELECTED STATISTICS • Florida 19% 65+ • Palm Beach County 24% 65+ • Jewish Population of Palm Beach County 60% 65+ • No family in immediate surrounding counties.

  6. RELEVANT TRENDS • Life expectancy. • Shortage of healthcare personnel – geriatric care (geriatricians, nurses, care managers). • Shift left – monitoring role. Shift Left • Increasing need to manage scarce resources. • Long Term Care increasingly difficult to operate in black. • Policy (State-National) – move to HCBS.
