Options As well as direct funding from SFA/EFA, the following options are available: • Consortia- partner with 2 or more suppliers • Community Learning approaches • Subcontracting / Commissioning—by College, voluntary sector provider/consortium, local authority or private sector prime contractor • Cross-sector partnership— partner with organisations from other sectors • Self –financed activities
Things to consider • Your capability • Are you accredited to deliver relevant qualifications? Or are you more suited to informal learning or engagement? • Do you have a track record to demonstrate what you can do? • Do you have Policies/procedures/quality marks? • Availability of funding • Depends on where you are • Same funders may have different approaches in different areas • Funding cuts increasing scarcity • Regulation • Ofsted • Funding rules • Stricter/unforgiving SFA performance rules
