  5. Check with ELL / Spec Ed regarding accommodations • New to country do have to take part in math test • Use samplers and tutorials with students • Students must view tutorial prior to test date Before

  6. All students must be provided headphones (may use their own) • Online math tests: provide scratch paper, gridded paper, and formula sheets (arrange with secretaries) • FMS – tickets from Angi • ELEM – login cards in Media Center In Advance

Restrooms breaks (one student at a time, escorted) • Pause test when student leaves the room • If more than 20 minutes, test is sealed • Student illness • After 20 minutes, cannot “go back” • Disruption due to weather • Pause (online) • Fire alarm or evacuation • Stop test (after 20 minutes, sealed) What-ifs

  8. Monitor students DURING testing • Eliminate distractions • Don’t use computer • Eliminate interruptions (phone, etc) Testing Day

  9. Complete Test Administration Report if • Inappropriate behavior that would invalidate the test • Adult transfers responses • Translator is used • Student refusal to test • Student uses assistive technology • TAR form on homepage > testing > MCA and OLPA > under “During Testing” TAR

  10. Tech-enhanced questions • Audio for all students • Calculator is automatic • Adaptive (only within the grade level) • Can be paused at any time • Results available immediately to teacher • Samplers and tutorial online Math

When you have about 10 minutes left in the class period, let students know to begin reviewing any problems from earlier work. • When the test is paused for the day, all problems from the current test period will be locked and changes will not be allowed when students return the next day. End of Period

  12. Schedule testing for your grade level on designated days – minimum of 90 minutes per class. • Anyone not done after 90 minutes, let your media para know so they can be scheduled for make-up day. Management

  13. Monitoring Checklist MDE will be monitoring test administrations at random schools throughout the state.

  14. Non-disclosure forms complete • Test monitors trained • Testing calendar followed • TARs completed as needed • IEPs correspond with testing methods • District or School Assessment Coordinator available to monitor • No testing room unsupervised at any time • Only one student leaves a testing room at a time; escorted Checklist

  15. Students working at own pace, no pressure • Questions about directions answered before testing begins • ONLY direction-type questions answered • No electronic devices – must be off and out of sight • Only authorized materials on student desk • Test is ACTIVELY monitored Checklist

Assessment room is quiet and distraction-free • Prohibited or questionable behavior is reported to secretary or Angi ASAP • Test Security issues report to Angi immediately • Testing is taking place in a distraction-free environment • Testing rooms are not over-crowded • All classroom materials that pertain to the test are covered or removed Checklist
