BIRTH AND DEATH • The son of Osiris and Isis, the son who avenged his father's death by the hands of his uncle Seth and thus became , the son God, the ruler and the law. • Horus's name means 'He Who is Above' and is probably linked to his status as a god of the sky and to the high soaring of the falcon. • In the Late Period images of Horus the child were placed on small plaques called "cippi," which were used to ward off evil and provide cures from illnesses and snake bites.

  3. WHAT OTHER GODS DOES HORUS RELATE TO OR INTERACT WITH? Horus is known to be important because he is the sun god. This made the people of ancient Egypt relate him to Jesus as he was the sun. The similarities that they saw between Jesus and Horus was uncanny. The whole born from the Virgin Mary is the same as Horus. Horus was born to the virgin Isis also known as Maria. Horus and Jesus are both born on 25th of December, were crucified, dead for three days and resurected. Jesus is the sun. We worship the sun. The sun of God.

  4. HORUS’ LIFE STORY - The son of Osiris and Isis, Horus became the ruler of Egypt after Osiris‘ death. In order to win the throne, Horus had to do battle against his uncle, the god Seth.  Seth was defeated and was relegated to the role of ruler of the chaotic desert lands surrounding Egypt. As a divine ruler, Horus had associations with the living pharaoh. - The Egyptians believed that: Horus was very important until a conflict arose with a rival god, Seth. The two fought for the throne of Egypt. In a fierce battle, Horus lost one of his eyes. It was then restored. He had won the battle against Seth. He had gained the role of protecting the Egyptians and guiding the living Egyptians. Often you see the "Eye of Horus" as a popular Egyptian symbol. He is the protector of Egypt.

  5. WHERE DID HORUS LIVE? • Egypt. • In the underworld but he possible lived in luxury.

WHAT DO THE ANCIENT EGYPTIANS BELIEVE ABOUT HORUS? • Horus is one of the important Gods of the ancient Egyptians. • As believed by the ancient Egyptians, Horus was important being the god of the sky. • The Egyptians believed that: Horus was very important until a conflict arose with a rival god, Seth.

  7. WHAT DOES HORUS LOOK LIKE? • Sometimes depicted as a falcon or a man with a falcon head, Horus was also seen as a sun sky. • As the child of Isis, Horus was also worshipped in the form of Harpocrates (Horus-the-child) and is often shown as a child nursing at the breast of Isis.

  8. WHAT DOES HORUS REPRESENT? • The ancient Egyptians worshipped a lot of different Gods. However Horus is very powerful and important as he is represented by many forms all meaning kingship and power. • He represented all kinds of new beginnings both in the new year and in peoples life's.
