Underline the common nouns, and circle the proper nouns in each sentence. • Uncle Harry enjoys mysteries more than other kinds of books. • He stayed up all night to finish The Hound of the Baskervilles. • This scary tale was written in 1902 by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. • Doyle created the famous, fictional character Sherlock Holmes. • Our whole class read the book Encyclopedia Brown Carries On. • Encyclopedia Brown is the funniest detective. • Afterwards, the shelves of the library that held mysteries were practically empty! • Mom had to drive me to Lexington to go to the library there. • Underline the collective nouns in the sentences. • 1.
