  6. Stamp Act A law that required all documents to have a stamp on them.

  7. Tea Act A tax on tea The Tea Act was passed because colonists were buying smuggled tea.

  8. Boston Tea Party The dumping of 342 chests of tea in Boston Harbor.

  9. Sons of Liberty A secret group of colonists that were opposed to Britain’s policies.

  10. Bunker Hill A battle where 1000 British soldiers were killed or wounded.

  11. Lexington & Concord The first battles of the Revolutionary War.

  12. Thomas Paine A patriot who urged for colonial independence.

  13. Common Sense A pamphlet written by Thomas Paine that urged for Colonial Independence.
