  2. HOLIDAY BLUES Loneliness The absence of a loved one Financial difficulties How can people find joy during a time of uncertainty and darkness?

  3. FINDING JOY IN DARKNESS Distressed and hungry, they will roam through the land; when they are famished, they will become enraged and, looking upward, will curse their king and their God.Then they will look toward the earth and see only distress and darkness and fearful gloom, and they will be thrust into utter darkness. Isaiah 8:21-22

  5. FINDING JOY IN DARKNESS Nevertheless, there will be no more gloom for those who were in distress…Isaiah 9:1a The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of deep darknessa light has dawned. Isaiah 9:2 We must abandon our ways, for His Way

  6. FINDING JOY IN DARKNESS Why do you spend your money on junk food,your hard-earned cash on cotton candy?Listen to me, listen well: Eat only the best,  fill yourself with only the finest. Isaiah 55:2—The Message Those who make a place for Him find him to be the glue that holds everything together. Those who ignore him find their lives to be off-kilter and cannot understand why. FINDING JOY IN DARKNESS You have enlarged the nation and increased their joy; they rejoice before you as people rejoice at the harvest, as warriors rejoice when dividing the plunder… For as in the day of Midian’s defeat, you have shattered the yoke that burdens them, the bar across their shoulders, the rod of their oppressor….

  8. FINDING JOY IN DARKNESS Every warrior’s boot used in battle and every garment rolled in blood will be destined for burning, will be fuel for the fire. Isaiah 9:3-5 We must have faith that what God has done before He will do again.

  9. FINDING JOY IN DARKNESS Abandon our ways for His way We must have faith that what God has done before He will do again.

  10. HOW? For to us a Child is born, to us a Son is given,and the government will be on his shoulders.And he will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,  Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end. Isaiah 9:6-7a We must love Jesus

  11. FINDING JOY IN DARKNESS Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy. 1 Peter 1:8
