Understanding Infinitives • Infinitives are the basic form of the verb • Examples in English: to study, to watch • In Spanish, ALL infinitives end in –AR, -ER, or -IR • -AR verb examples in Spanish: estudiar, mirar • A Spanish Infinitive can be broken down into 2 parts • The Stem • The Ending Mir ar = to watch
