  2. Expectations • D.RE.04.01 Construct tables and bar graphs from given data. • D.RE.04.02 Order a given set of data, find the median, and specify the range of values. • D.RE.04.03 Solve problems using data presented in tables and bar graphs

  3. Construct tables and bar graphs from given data. Construct means to make Can you make a table? Can you use the data in the table to make a bar graph?

  4. This is an example of a table Boys’ and Girls’ Eye Color In the Classroom A table is the same thing as a chart. It is used to collect data.

  5. This is an example of a Table Boys and Girls Eye Color In the Classroom It must have a title, labels and be neat.

  6. Collect data and make a graph There are different types of graphs. Fourth graders need to know how to construct (make) a bar graph.

  7. It must have Title Labels Bars It must be quality.

  8. Could you make this bar graph? Fourth grades were asked what their favorite season was. Below is the data. Could you use that data and construct (make) a bar graph?

Assessment Rubric1  In Progress of Learning At first you might say something like this: " This is hard for me to understand. I know some of the vocabulary words, but I do not know all of the words that you use to explain the ideas.   I can do some of what you ask me, but I need help on quite a bit of this.  I just cannot do this by myself, yet. Sometimes this work makes me a little nervous."

  10. 2 Knows vocabulary and facts “I can repeat what you say.  I know facts and definitions of vocabulary words.  I do not really understand how to use this information in different ways. I am building the foundation for understanding, but I am not there yet."

My bar graph is quality. I feel very proud of my work. I am not sure if I can explain how to make a bar graph to someone else so that he will understand."

  12. 4 Beyond Expectations " I know how to make bar graphs and can teach someone else how to make a bar graph. Any time I collect data, I can turn it into a bar graph. "
