  3. A Little About Me • My name is Erik Crull (Skull) • I have taught in our district for 4 years and have been in the education as a teacher and Coach for 12 years.

  4. A Little About Me • I received my Bachelors degree in History and Social Science from California State University of San Bernardino, CSUSB.

  5. A Little About Me • I am a first generation college graduate • I grew up in Fontana and went to Fontana High • I am Married with 2 children

Some more Figures … • Average Percent of AVID seniors Accepted to a 4 year university over last three years: 96% • Percent of AVID students who have taken the SAT and/or ACT since 08/09 – 100% • Average Percent of AVID students in Free/Reduced Lunch – 87% • Number of Community Service Hours completed by AVID seniors in AVID for three years or more – 10,000 • Universities Students accepted to since 2012 … ALL UCs Represented … Berkeley and UCLA included…. All 23 Cal States Represented…. Inlcuding SLO, SDSU, and Long Beach State… and over 40 private universities represented.

  12. Binders • Every week!!!! • Our first official binder check will be next Friday. • Focused Notes • You must have at least 10 per week.

  14. DCA’s • Students will be required to write a daily class activity- DCA (5 points a day) • The activity is used to work on: Writing skills Organization Communication Review of previous days work Forces students to use their notes Allows me to check for understanding everyday

  15. Some Great Statistics  • 100% of our AVID Seniors took either the SAT or ACT at least twice • 99% completed their A-G requirements successfully • 100% of AVID students graduated High School with above a 2.5 Academic G.P.A. • 96% of our students were accepted to a 4 year institution

More Great Statistics  • 45% of students in the AVID Program finished having taken at least 3 AP Classes or more • 78% of students in AVID 2012 took at least ONE AP class while at Chaffey High School • 61% of students in AVID 2012 were in program for 3 yrs or more • Over 7,500 hours of community service performed over the year by AVID Seniors
