About Siemens Rail Systems in the UK 700 highly skilled employees nationwide from diverse backgrounds such as yacht building and Formula 1 in addition to rail experts Use a ‘pit-stop’ approach to train maintenance to maintain 10 fleets of trains across seven train operating companies Each year our trains travel some 50 million miles around the UK, from Scotland to the South of England The business has almost 650 UK suppliers, over 80 of which also supply to Siemens rolling stock activities outside the UK and over 80% of our third party purchasing spend is with suppliers in the UK Siemens wider UK business activities support 54,000 jobs in the UK economy We are adopting the BS11000 collaborative working-standard for key relationships. By taking a long-term partnership approach we help suppliers be the best they can be.
