Oklahoma State Regents About the Oklahoma State Regents • Oklahoma State System of Higher Education - 1941 constitutional body • Current enrollment - 233,000 students • 25 colleges and universities (52 campuses), 11 constituent agencies and one higher education center • The State System coordinated by the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education - each institution governed by a board of regents • The State Regents • prescribe academic standards of higher education • determine functions and courses of study at state colleges and universities • grant degrees • recommend to the state Legislature budget allocations for all institutions • recommend proposed fees within limits set by the Legislature • manage 23 scholarships and special programs • in cooperation with the Office of State Finance, operate OneNet, the state's information and telecommunications network for education and government • operate the Oklahoma Guaranteed Student Loan Program, which guarantees loans made to students by the private sector

  18. Oklahoma Higher Education Coordinator for Grant Writing Assistance • Started as INBRE 80% • Goal:…to enhance a robust grants culture in the Oklahoma higher education system, providing direct services to the agency, and focusing on the 4 year universities and the two-year colleges, or PUIs.
