Director: Joonas Neuvonen • Whenstarted to film in 2003, 22 years, unemployed, pennilessdruguser (almost on daily base) withmiddle-classbackground • A member of the usergroup • Later: studiedfilmmakingoneyear in India • Aim: To show the life of a druguser as it is, withoutanyteachingortaking a stance for oragainstdruguse
Buprenorphine (Subutex) in Finland • Substitutiontreatment in privatepractice in 1990s, from 1997 onwardsalso in publicsector (more in NAT 3-4/2005) • Mostusedsubstanceamong the opioidusers in Finland from 2002 onwards • In 2005, 3.700 – 4.900 users • Amongtreatmentpopulation: in 2008 buprenorphinewas the primarysubstance in use for 34% of patients (share of heroin only 2%) • The overpowering position of buprenorphine (Subutex) is a distinguishing and internationallyunique feature in Finnishopiatescene
