Setting Up a Visit • Call the school’s Guidance Department • Ask what types of visits they offer • Set a date and time for visit • Ask if there are any specifics you should know
Arrival and Registration • Look for visitor parking • Enter through main doors and buzz into the building • Report to main office • Bring driver’s license in case it’s required for entry • Make your reason for visit known • Sign in and wear nametag/visitor pass if required • Ask for directions to your destination of visit
Conversations • Students and Counselor • Hand out viewbook and inquiry cards • Talking points checklist • Answer questions • Encourage student to apply (fee waived!) • Collect applications and inquiry cards
Conversations Continued • Counselor or Administrator only • Review Guidance Counselor Packet • HS Evaluation sheet • Talking points checklist • Answer questions • Ask for a HS profile sheet
Follow Up • Complete evaluation sheet • Send in evaluation sheet along with: • Inquiry cards • Applications • Leftover materials • Send a thank you card to the school • Follow-up with Admissions Counselor on specifics and outcomes • Continue relationship with high school
