The Maple Tree • The maple tree is a common tree in the deciduous forest, and most all the foods the early colonists cooked used ingredients that could be found in their environment.
Maple Syrup • Maple syrup was used many different ways other than pouring over pancakes. One favorite way was to make candy. • Colonists would get together in the spring and collect sap to make the candy.
