  2. Our time together: Learn more about yourself and how best to work with people who are most and least like you. Learning Objective 1: Enhance self-awareness and social awareness by identifying personal preferences towards interactions using the Animal Matrix. Learning Objective 2: Develop and articulate strategies to work best with personality types most and least like yours. Learning Objective 3: Identify implications for staff development and teamwork.

  4. The Work Environment Turn to person beside you... • What are some challenging situations we often encounter when working with the rest of our team? • What about challenges when addressing topics with our exec? • What do many of these have in common? Interpersonal communication

  5. Sorting Ceremony • You all should have a handout to help us identify your animal type. • We will put statements up on the screen and you will assess which statement is more like you.

  13. COLLABORATE WITH YOUR ANIMAL TYPE • What is one bit of advice you have for others to know when working with your animal type? • What advice can you come up with for yourself in regards to working with mixed groups?

  14. Let’s Talk about “Your” animal • Which “animal” do you feel it would be most difficult for you to work with? • Which animal might be good to work with because of some complementary skills? • How does knowing one another’s animals help maintain relationships?

In Closing… • This is not absolute • There is no BEST or WORST animal • Not an excuse or diagnosis • Pay attention to your own behavior • At what times do you see yourself in the colored side of your animal? • At what times do you see yourself on the outside (non-colored) side of your animal? • Golden Rule vs. Platinum Rule • Who is in your jungle? • Implications for staff development and teamwork?
