  4. Executive Branch • Judicial Branch • Legislative Branch

  6. Judicial Branch: • The Supreme Court • Highest court in the nation • Appointed by the president and approved by senate • Serves until death • Interprets the law and punishes the wrongdoers

  7. Executive Branch: • Headed by the president and vice president • He/she is in charge of enforcing the laws • Commander-in-chief of the armed forces • Has a cabinet • Has the power to veto • Vice president takes presidents job if needed

  8. Legislative Branch: • Congress • Two branches: House of Representatives and the Senate • Power to declare war • Makes laws
