Executive Branch The JOB of the executive branch of state government is toCARRY OUT THE LAWS of the state. The executive branch of government has many departments. For example this branch deals with highway safety and protecting natural resources.
Who is in charge of the executive branch? The GOVERNOR is the head of the executive branch. They are elected by the citizens of North Carolina every four years. They can then choose people to help run the state.

Judicial Branch The job of the judicial branch of government is to interpret the law. This means this branch makes decisions about the law and decides if laws go against the North Carolina Constitution. The North Carolina Constitution is a document that explains the job of each branch, and contains North Carolina’s laws.
Who is in charge of the judicial branch? The seven judges of the Supreme Court are at the head of the judicial branch. The highest court in North Carolina is the Supreme Court. All other courts and judges in North Carolina are also part of the judicial branch of government.
